Hi! I’m Carlie (She/Her)
My path to becoming a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor is rooted in a journey that began in the United States Army Reserve. During my deployment in Afghanistan, I not only navigated my own struggles but also discovered a profound sense of purpose in supporting my soldiers. As a trans woman, I have a personal understanding of the challenges of identity and resilience, which has deepened my empathy for all those I serve. Academically, I focused on cognitive psychology, and in graduate school, I found a powerful connection between cognitive science and mindfulness. I recognized that mindfulness is the practical, experiential counterpart to what we learn from psychology. I believe that by teaching clients to observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, they can actively apply what we know from science to cultivate resilience and create meaningful change.
